Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has confirmed that he has held talks with
Chelsea soccer whiz kid, Ola Aina. The talks aim at convincing the
right fullback, who is an ex-England U20 international, to forget about
the possibility of playing for the England senior side and pledge his
future to the Super Eagles
Rohr
told goal.com: “It is normal to have this situation, when we have very
good player [like Ola Aina] who can pick two teams. We always leave the
door open to young talents.”
Despite been born and raised in England, Aina visited the Super Eagles
Crown Plaza Hotel camp in London shortly before the friendly against
Senegal on Thursday, alongside his father.
While the Nigerian Federation and Rohr are keen on the ex-England U20
international, the defender has not yet made a decision whether or not
he would make a commitment to the Nigerian senior team.
Aina has recorded five first-team appearances for Chelsea this season.
