The biker suffered a fatal head injury in the accident, described at the time as a “scene from a nightmare."
Amie was left wheelchair-bound after her spine was snapped in two and her arms, legs, pelvis and back were broken. But she's fought back - and even trained to be a fitness instructor.
And on Wednesday, she at last got to hug the passer-by who pulled her back from the brink of death following the May 1, 2007 crash.
Fighting back tears, Amie gazed at man mountain Rob Farrell and mouthed: “There are no words!”
“It was very emotional,” the 30-year-old told the Sunday Mercury . “How do you thank someone who has saved your life?”
Shockingly Rob has been told Amie had died from her injuries -but he refused to believe and the two were reunited after a chance encounter at a gym.
Amie, who had just been waiting at a bus stop when she was hit, suffered a broken spine. Her pelvis was broken in four places, her femur in two.
Still, she was hospitalized for four months.
