Photos; Shopkeeper Catches Baby As He Falls From Balcony After Spotting Him Dangling From Rails

 

A hero shopkeeper raced to catch a two-year-old boy after he saw him dangling from a flat balcony. Tot Elif Cakmak wondered outside to play when he suddenly fell from the three-storey building after losing his balance.

He miraculously managed to cling to the rails until Mehmet Tapik spotted the little boy.

CCTV footage shows him holding out his arms as he tells Elif to let go while worried passerbys look on in Ankara, Turkey.

Mehmet, who works in a grocery store in the Bağlarbaşı Mahallesi neighbourhood, told a local newspaper: "When I was in my workplace, I saw that the little boy was hanging on the balcony.

"I ran immediately and my friends came too. "The survivor was very frightened, but we safely delivered him to his family. "Thank goodness nothing bad happened."

It's believed Elif Cakmak suffered no injuries.
